The Independent Living Program helps foster and former foster youth transition from foster care to adulthood
This program provides opportunities to obtain life skills for self-sufficiency and independence.
Some young people who leave the foster care system may need continuing services and support to help them on their way into adulthood
The Independent Living Program does this by providing many learning and training opportunities along with financial assistance
It also provides needed assistance in preparing them for post-secondary education and training as well as career development and employment
These tools assist in their success and sustain their lives as adults
